Built in 1918 as a dormitory for single, male immigrant employees of Kohler, The American Club was reborn in 1981 as a five-star, five-diamond destination resort hotel. It retained its historic richness, storybook charm and single level of quality that comes with everything bearing the Kohler name.

Guests of The American Club have shuttle service throughout Destination Kohler, access to the Sports Core Health & Racquet Club, as well as the ability to book advanced tee times on Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run. There are numerous courtyards to enjoy, thirteen dining options, a variety of shopping, the Kohler Design Center, Village walking trails, and the Kohler Waters Spa. Guests can purchase a River Wildlife land pass for the lodge and 500-acre private wilderness preserve for bird hunting, hiking, cross country skiing, show shoeing, and seasonal bass and salmon fishing.
